Big Week

We've been very busy lately. If we aren't visiting, we're cleaning or getting ready for something. In all of the commotion, a lot of little things have happened with our boys. Just so we don't forget, here is a list of the most recent changes:

Bronson:
  • started singing "dadda dadda dadda" very loudly in the mornings. He thinks it's hilarious and so do we.
  • will call "mamma, mamma" when he is very upset. It's heart breaking and a little great too.
  • sits and plays without much supervision.
  • reaches for his parents or will clearly indicate that he doesn't want to go to someone who is eager to hold him (including his mamma).
  • will wave and seems to be asking for food with hand motions.
Rowan:
  • stayed with gramma Lila and grampa Ken for an afternoon and napped in their big boy bed.
  • continued to be accident free.
  • threw his first long fit over sleeping in his bed. It lasted 1.5 hours and involved an awful lot of tears. He wants to sleep in mommy and daddy's bed and although mommy and daddy would love nothing more than to have him, allowing the habit to take root would not have been in his or his parents' best interest.
  • learned to recite Tyrannosaurus Drip and freaked his mom right out (seriously, it's a complicated book and he knows all of the dialogue).
  • had another vocabulary explosion.
  • demonstrated that he understands the concept of living far away from grampa Jack and gramma Richardson.
  • started using descriptors like: later, next week and soon.
  • discovered the MOON.
  • has generally become more tolerant of his parents' need to get things done around him.
  • fibbed and made up distractions for the first time.
Our house in undergoing some changes too. We had an interior designer in to help us with the living room. As a result, we've gone out an bought a new buffet (I hate that term) and coffee table. We will be getting a new chair too but we haven't found the right one yet. Oh, and we finally put up the chandelier. Sadly, after surviving a trip from Toronto, installation and de-installation, moving again and storage in the garage for a year, it hasn't fared well in the last couple days. I don't know what my problem is, but every time I touch it, I drop a crystal. We now have a less-than-perfect-but-still-amazing chandelier over a slightly dented glass table. Poor me. I'll always know it isn't the way it should be even if others don't notice.

Anyway, the place is starting to look really put together and although I will probably have spent my entire maternity leave earnings on new decor, I'll be going back to work with the knowledge that our home is in order. Might not seem like a big deal to most, but it sure is to me.
